How can you be more humble? We all aspire to be perceived as humble but the reality is, pride can lurk inside. You cannot immediately see if someone has a humble spirit but you can hear it in their words and perceive it through their actions. Pride keeps appearances pretending to be something it’s not while puffing itself up before others. Humility exposes its true self and isn’t afraid to risk reputation. Pride makes itself first and diminishes other people. Humility prioritizes others embracing responsibility and sacrifice. Pride is loud and vengeful. Humility is meek and forgiving. Satan embodies pride…it was the cause of his fall. Jesus embodied the purest humility when “he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” Phil 2:5-8.
